The constructivist theory is student centered not teaching centered. The teacher allows the students to make use of their knowledge and helps them in construction of their knowledge. Unlike traditional theories of learning that define a teacher as an informer or deliverer of knowledge, in construction theory, teacher is only the guide. The students are not receivers of knowledge; they conceive their previously attained knowledge and employ it in constructing new knowledge. Teachers help the students in collaborative construction of knowledge by social negotiation and reflective practice. This means that the students learn in a collaborative environment in which, he is not alone to learn but he has many more learners with him, a whole class. This can be understood by the example given at the starting of the chapter in which, the students are involved in constructing an elaborate city bus. The students did not allow Tommy to enter the bus because of his adopted role as an animal. Later on, the teacher negotiates to the students about why should animals not allowed in bus and they reflect according to their own received experiences. The students learn by collaborative construction of knowledge and they are facilitated by the teacher in terms of their learning. The teacher negotiates about their conceptions and understanding and allows them to reflect on the situation. They practice what they see and by their teacher’s help, they are able to construct knowledge that was generalized previously.

Constructivism is an approach that is used to explain different theories. It is a theory that holds that all bodies of knowledge and all other disciplines were constructed by communities and individuals. It argues that knowledge was discovered by humans then was absorbed into them, and if not so, it was discovered from nature.
Realism, which also known as political realism is a school of international relations which prioritizes national interest and security, instead of ideals, social reconstructions, or ethics. “This term is often synonymous with power politics. The international system is anarchic. States prioritize survival, using a self-help dynamic.
Basing on the aforementioned premise, this essay focuses on the importance of Constructivism in the classroom. It discusses its meaning and the distinction between Constructivism and other learning theories. Besides this, the essay also explores the origin and growth of Constructivism as a learning theory and principle.
Social constructivism "brings the self-inflicted wounds of relativism, when the sociologist's own knowledge can be of no more relevance than that of anyone else". If relativism is accepted, then the logical requirements of sociology cannot be satisfied, and sociology itself is impossible. It is true that knowledge is socially constructed in the interests.
The struggle among institutions in blend with growing learner expectations is speeding up internationally stressing several higher education institutions to get better access by means of eliminating time, place, and situational hurdles in ways that are cost efficient. Contemporary information technology mediated education is a choice.
The theory of constructivism states that learning is best understood, accumulated and applied when the student or the person develops his own mental model of the information. There may be several approaches to this philosophy but they all believe in one common idea that learning is best developed when the student or learner actively.
In the educational setting, constructivism refers to the kind of learning that is active and constructive. The constructivism theory was proposed by Dewey, Vygotsky, Piaget, amongst others, who advocated that learning is practical, and that the learners must actively be involved in the construction of information that ultimately, leads to learning.
This paper goes ahead to evaluate two theories by Stefano Guzzini and Christian Reussmit, their methodology, findings, analysis and recommendations. As explained by Richard Price and Christian Reussmit, constructivism theory interests and identity should precede interactions. Thus, it will be possible to shape the kind of relationship to adopt.
In this work, I am going to compare and contrast the various different views of constructivism by its authors and critics. I am going to look at some of the features that are similar across the three authors, the differences and reasons for existence of these differences. The three authors include: Ted Hopf, Jeffrey T. Checkel and Alexander Wendt.
