Other proposals included using it to make huge holes, create a new canal (like the Panama Canal); generate human space flight, and defending the earth from an asteroid (Madrigal n. p.). However, personally, I think that all of these uses cannot be considered seriously, given that there are serious risks in every nuclear explosion, including radioactive fallouts and the large scale obliteration of any living thing in the area, as witnessed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Rosenberg n. p.).
