The benefits of recovering CRITICAL care patients in ICU/CCU better that PACU are: it reduces congestion of patients at PACU that might hinder the proper running of the hospitals duties. Also, a patient who stays in ICU tends to get more attention than the one in PACU. In addition to that, Operating Room should be well equipped in order to handling various operations.
My project is going to improve HCAP score card as the leaders should emphasize the significance of patient satisfaction and also staff should undergo training in patient satisfaction strategies that will be more fruitful in projects to improve HCAP scores.
To instill valuable information to patients, both staff should write instructions and repeat them verbally so as to give patients time to respond to questions (Hackner, 2010). More so, for effective communication, the hospital has to provide interpretation services for patients who do not speak and does not comprehend English when giving them information about the medication and also discharge instructions. Such can be helpful when following up patients after discharge for feedback on their experience.
The new process will maximize the use of resources and improve care as in every given organization, there should be utilization of staff because it is the primary resource that the management has to take care (Self-extubation in ICU patients, 2014).
