The history of Broadway is crucial and has been a huge interest in my life. The stories behind the theaters, the people, and the shows have been very exciting, like its name, Broadway. Broadway has shaped the society and Hollywood; this contributed to the development of our society because it was a platform where social issues were raised. It was a platform where different cultures were appreciated and contributed to equality, both based on racial discrimination and social discrimination.
This documentary has helped me appreciate different kinds of dances and their history. The movie shows that in the early 20th century, dance was a big part of theater musical. Dancers did many styles of dancing, especially the tap dance. This dance is fascinating because it is characterized by fun and performers are always seen to be having fun when performing the dance. It is characterized by making sounds through tapping shoes on the floor during a performance. The sound of the tap goes along with the beat of the music. The tap that is seen in the documentary is regarded as the Broadway taps because it focuses on dance and is incorporated in the music and performances in the theaters. The mood of this dance is full of energy because this requires the performance need to connect with the beat. They try to recreate what they hear on the dance.
There are many moves that are incorporated in tap dance, including spins, slides, jumps, slow walks, and other moves that add excitement and character in the performances.
