An Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) is a central control and directive facility that is charged with the responsibility of emergency management, disaster management, or emergency preparedness purpose at a tactical point in an emergency incident and making sure the organization continues to operate. The EOC in a given area is concerned with a strategic overview of an emergency incident. Moreover, the EOC is concerned with collecting, gathering, and analyzing information or data. The collection of information is used to decide on matters that will protect both property and life, pass on the decisions that reached at to all parties, and maintain the organizations’ continuity. This paper will look at the response to a large, complex incident that involves multiple jurisdictions and agencies using the NIMS and interaction with the EOC.
I will set off with the use of information and communication systems that are flexible and that permit every response and emergency management partners set up and maintain a general picture of the incident. This will build on the main views of reliability, portability, scalability, and interoperability. This will ensure that individuals from various agencies, jurisdictions, disciplines, and organizations can communicate in a language that is easy (Fagel, 211). The EOC workers will collect, investigate, and analyze data that relates to the incident.
I will establish a command and management section that will outline the processes and systems that will form the foundation for regulating response processes and sharing of information.
