With its main facility located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Nordam Group is among the leading manufacturers of aviation components and accessories. The company also has a number of offered services and repair and overhaul is among its primary services. Already in existence for decades, it has provided for commercial aircrafts through cost-efficient overhauls and periodic maintenance by their expert technicians that range from structures, control services, nacelles, thrust reversers, nacelles and engine components. Nordam Inc. describes itself as specialists in composite part repairs and bonded honeycomb made available worldwide with its reliable delivery (Nordam 2008).
GE is the main provider of large jet aircraft engines. Their products range from commercial, corporate, military and marine purposes. Their website provides a comprehensive and multimedia presentation that explains how an engine works. Among the jet engines primary purpose is to create enough power to thrust the aircraft and make it airborne. This is best experienced when the plane speeds off the runway for takeoff. Newton’s Third Law of Motion is a primary principle for this. The air is forced through the engine of the aircraft at a faster speed than that of the air that enters it. This thrusts the plane forward. Thus, in every action there is an equal and opposite reaction (GE Aviation 2008).
There are different types of jet engines but all of them share the same basic components which include a compressor, turbine and combustor.
