So in this way, the executives and owners throw this huge burden from their heads to Clouding service providers who are actually the professionals in the field of Information Technology and thus reduce their costs of doing business and get rid of complexity of job. On the other hand, this exercise can enable the service provider to arrange large data centers, achieve economies of scale and finally ending up with higher revenues. In short, businesses no longer have to build their own databases, buy servers and build storage capacities or other in-house services to keep various organizational records. This would also result in greater productivity and efficiency. (Todd Erickson, 2009)
On the flip side, this service has also many impediments and obstacles that hamper its growth. The first and the most important factor is a general perception about cloud security. As Todd Erickson (2009) mentioned in his article that Clouding Services are vulnerable to the cyber attacks from ‘hackers’ who could threaten their security by sabotaging the systems and data-centers whereby resulting in mammoth information asset losses of an organization. Also, they are exposed to ‘spammers’. In addition to these external threats, there are chances of ‘Internal data center threats, which include data center employees and other data center customers’. Thirdly, there are “enterprise users, who could easily screw something up within the organization’s cloud space”. In other word, this could be called as vendor lock-in that needs to be curbed to promote innovation in this new field that has enormous growth potential once the organizations are assured that their data is secured and no one would be able to break into their systems.
