My desire to become a professional lawyer stems from encouragement from my immediate family, friends and from job fairs which I have been attending in order to learn more about the opportunities out there for law graduates. All the above factors have created in me a great desire and urge to pursue a career in law.
For me, graduating as a lawyer is the ultimate goal in life which unless I attain, the full potential in me cannot be fully exploited, hence the reason why I want to pursue law to the highest level possible. Since my childhood, I have always wanted to do law and probably serve in the Department of criminal justice. My desire has been reaffirmed by my parents who have not spared any energy to ensure that, I achieve my academic goals. Encouragement from my father, coupled with personal interest and talent, therefore shaped my career goals and I resolved to go for a law course.
For me, studying in the Law program will present a great opportunity in that professional lawyers can fit and work in very many settings. For instance, as a professional lawyer, one can work in the juvenile justice, in the police department as well as in the Criminal Justice department. The above provides a graduate in law a great opportunity to pursue their goals. Therefore, pursuing a Law career for me is an investment for the future.
I am a volunteer for several groups in the community something which has opened my mind in as far as leadership is concerned. The exposure I receive from participating in community activities has been of help to others and me as I am very good at conflict resolution.
Education teaches one, basic skills to cope with life’s challenges. The human life is full of challenges, pleasures, problems and disasters. Some of the challenges happen when one is least prepared, and lack of proper coping skills leads to difficulties in understanding circumstances and coping with challenges that happen in one’s life.
