Dynamic programming solves a complex problem by breaking it down into easier sub-problems hence it solves each sub-problem once only, reducing number of computations and can solve optimization problems that would not have been easily sorted out through greedy approach since the greedy algorithm works in phases and at each phase, it gets the best at that instance with no regard of others.
Backtracking tries different solutions till it finds a solution that is more suitable. Such problems can only be solved by trying every possible configuration and each configuration is tried only once.
This describes the restraining behavior of a function when an argument leans to a value or to infinity and is used to describe a function according to their growing rates and functions with identical growth are denoted with the same expression
A language is in class P if there is a deterministic Turing machine such that the TM runs for polynomial time over all inputs and for all values of the language, the TM outputs 1 and for all values in the language, the TM outputs 0.A problem is in a complex class P when there is an algorithm that solves it in a time bounded by polynomial of the input size, hence there will be an algorithm that will tell in a polynomial time whether a given number is composite
S is NP-hard if, for every S ∈ NP, S, hence implying that S is ‘as hard as’ all the problems in NP while a problem S is NP-complete if it is NP-hard and it is also in the class NP itself. In symbols, S is NP-complete if S is NP-hard and S ∈ NP. NP-complete problem forms a set of problems that could be intractable or tractable.
This is a case where it is not possible to check the validity of either a yes –answer or a no-answer in a finite amount of time. For the case of an asserted no-answer, the argument that establishes that can be no finite ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Adaptive learning for ESL based on computation

...strategies to facilitate teaching-learning of English as a second language in a learning situation. Adaptive learning systems make teachers to adapt the use of instructions to individual style of learning and preferences of the students (Ya-huei & Hung-Chang , 2011). The adaptive education system that is implemented in the background of computer mediated lessons is referred to as intelligent tutorial system. This with dynamism uses the e learning content, the educational representation and human-computer interface to the objective, needs and first choice of human being users for effective lessons and knowledge. The research took into account aspects such as personality and cognitive style to determine...

Questions on Hans Selye's Stress Theory

...?Section Question According to Hans Selye's Stress Theory People live by continuously adapting to the hassle of an ever varying setting. We define stress as actual or seeming disparity sandwiched between ecological burden required for endurance and a personal capability to acclimatize to these necessities. This universal mock-up regards stress as part of a chronological procedure in which purpose environmental situations for example stressors are appraised by the persons as each having no adaptive importance or as traumatic. If situations are supposed by the human being as traumatic, then this assessment will set in action a chain of stress-impacts mechanisms comprised of integrated behavioral and...

Literary theory (Althusser) Answering discussion questions

..., which invariably, in his conception, exists separately from discourse. Indeed, in Reading Capital, he points out that the retrospection of the past is not ideology, but serves, in his words, “the legitimate epistemological primacy of the present over the past.” This served as one of the sources of his criticism of the French communist party, as a criticism of ideology on epistemological grounds will always sit uncomfortably with those emotionally invested in a given ideology. His criticism in the same work of “subjective and arbitrary ideologies” on Marxist grounds suggests that discourse within ideology was not his aim. Similarly, there is the question of “complete” ideology. In Althusserian criticism, no ideology is...

...likelihood that the data will be flawed, although the chance remains that the sample group will not be wholly representative of the populace. I also think clinical trials are more accurate for this reason. Class 2: Question 1: The mid range theory selected was Advancing Technology, Caring, and Nursing, which was pioneered by Rozzano Locsin. This concept is currently being applied to research in determining how technology can and has affected patient care and how nurses can still display the same level of caring towards their patients despite the advent of technological advances in medicine (Rozzano Locsin, 2010). As an existing framework, this theoretical approach can be theory fit to...

Journalism - Writing Technologies

...?Writing Technologies Speaking about writing technologies, Katherine Hayles declared that “language alone is no longer the distinctive characteristicof technologically developed societies; rather, it is language plus code’ (Hayles, 2005, p16).1 This conclusion came in her discourse about the interdependence of texts and technologies that characterize the contemporary language trend. The dynamics of the relationship between language and code were the basis of this theory. The question now is whether such claim is true. This paper will attempt to find this out and for this purpose, Hayles’ essay, Speech, Writing, Code: Three Worldviews, will be examined. Her arguments, especially those that suggest how...

Global Financial Strategy Computation

... Global Financial Strategy Computation The theory of purchasing power parity s that the spot exchange rates betweendifferent currencies will change to the differential in inflation rates between the countries. The relative purchasing power parity states that the exchange rate of one currency against another will adjust to reflect the price level changes in the two countries. The formula below is applied. where et = future spot rate e0 = spot rate ih = home inflation if = foreign inflation t = the time period With this, it is expected that the purchasing power parity will hold. et = e0 (1 + ih)t (1 + if)t = 5.7471 (1 + 0.048)1 (1 + 0.022)1 = 5.7471 x 1.048 1.022... =...

Question in Theory of Computation

...Unit Question in Theory of Computation In the given assignment, to demonstrate that VERTEX_COVER is in NP, we initially determine if the given graph has Vertex Cover of K nodes. Let us say there are a set of nodes, C of size K, and we want to prove they form a vertex cover. The proof that the set C is a vertex cover can be achieved in polynomial time. Another way for determining the attributes of the set is via examining the set by comparing the components of the adjacency matrix. This technique involves the consideration of columns and rows where one looks into the vertices or nodes of the graph and their adjacency to other vertices. In this case example for, N – C, the nodes are not...
