It supports employees through encouragement by challenges to realize the potential of the employee. At OCBC, employees are treated with deserved respect and are supported in every possible way in their work as per the shared values that the organization adopts with the aim of achieving the goals of the organization. In the process of developing and managing talent, the bank identifies, recognizes and rewards talent every time an employee performs outstandingly.
Other organizations do not take into consideration the importance of employee encouragement. In most business establishments, especially sole proprietorships, employees do not get sufficient recognition for their efforts towards the success of the organization. As opposed to OCBC, other business pace more emphasis on deriving the most work from an employee while limiting their rewards to reduce their expenditure. However, this has proved to be retrogressive because it does not encourage the employee to feel appreciated and encouraged to perform better (Youssef-Morgan & Stark, 2014). OCBC has attributed much of its success to its human resource, therefore emphasizing on its improvement and development.
The OCBC bank offers to its employees a competitive payment package aside from a comprehensive training program to improve their skills and talents. In addition to that, the organization offers an equity ownership program that allows employees to own shares of the company, schemes to support employees who wish to continue their education, a flexible lifestyle and a benefit program.
