My span of work as an underwriting manager and involvement in credit risk makes my functions diverse. As I have a responsibility to coordinate all day-to-day activities in the South Region so it can be said, I am working in operations and finance departments. Planning and effective communication skills required in both the jobs are evident in my job profile.
Even though major part of my role is to design and develop underwriting procedures through teamwork, in my opinion I have the skills to become a successful financial manager as my primary focus is make effective decisions regarding loan, reviewing team efforts and solving problems of production partners, credit risk and answering queries. As mentioned in O* Net, role of a financial manager is to coordinate financial activities relating to risk and credit departments so my job profile meets the mentioned criteria. Moreover, I have relevant knowledge and expertise relating to credit risk, policy and financial management which can be utilized in the identified position. Having good communication skills is an added advantage which would help me maintain relationships with business associates as well as with the customers.
The three identified states are Massachusetts, Illinois and New York. These states are financial hubs and rated as one of the best places because of highly paid jobs even during the economic recession or market downfall “Financial Careers, 2014." The average salary which that can be offered to the finance manager in these states comes up to $115,000 per annum making it as one of the commendable job offering for the identified position.
