As China became popular in international economic arena, the organizations have to learn to accommodate cultural differences which are known to exist between Chinese and American ways in particular.
The hatred for communism was to be put on backburner in order to benefit from lower production costs which China had to offer. The cultural differences were so severe that Americans and other European nations were baffled with the challenge of synchronizing organizational effort when they had to work side by side with Chinese employees. Intensive researches were conducted on the topic of applying American ways in Chinese culture for the past significant number of years and guess what; researches finally found out that Chinese employees do not like to operate in any other way except their own. Chinese culture is a collective one despite its openness to the foreign organisational operations. People tend to care for each other, switching jobs is considered bad and socially unacceptable in a major number of cases.
They do not like downsizing and indulge themselves in polite communal behaviours and they also keep secrets. An average Chinese employee wants to get onboard with organisational strategic decision making and he or she does not keep on doing what he or she is asked to do until given a very strong logic to support the need of any modifications in his or her role in the company. In this way, it can be inferred that collective culture impresses the Chinese worker to get along with his or her employer. The organisational leadership has to adopt Chinese philosophy towards work and to be honest, Chinese consider their work as worship and they expect the same from their foreign bosses and employees.
