In this case, minimalism layering defines a music style that is most common in the Western Coast of America. This is evident when the author states that Charles and Ray went to art schools in Detroit in the 1940s and in the orbit of New York respectively. Both were active participants in modern art movements where they engaged in design approach that enhanced their living standards. In addition, the work contains balance in terms of work and design through exhibitions. The exhibitions were evident through making housing designs that were put on exhibition in universities and government agencies. In this case, the author expressed balance through giving an insight on how Ray and Charles expressed their ideologies in modern design. They embraced visionary concept in modern design and the designs were featured in higher learning institutions and government parastatals. The story of Ray and Charles also shows balance since both participated in positive aspects through partnering with the federal government and influential business people in the nation in order to popularize the country after world war 2. This is evident in the story when they got married in 1941 and were registered among the people who were migrating from Westward to Los Angeles. Given that they both had the same backgrounds in art, they were able to coexist while taking part in the designs of post war.
The powers of Ten film is also another example of works that express balance. Balance is evident in the visual scale of people who watched the film on national and international levels.
