The book explores the repercussion that the indiscriminate use of DDT and other pesticides on the soil has on the natural environment, the food web and the biodiversity and the dire need for humans to understand this and adopt alternative strategies which would help conserve the environment.
Rachel Carson was professionally a marine biologist. She also worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and by the time she decided to write Silent Spring she was already an accomplished author having already published other important books such as The Edge of the Sea and The Sea Around Us. However, while working she noticed the widespread and uninhibited usage of poisonous chemicals and the ill effects that these chemical agents had on the wildlife, their habitats and the potential repercussions it would have on the human life as well. Perhaps what makes Carson an ideal person to write the book was her environment consciousness. The fact that she foresaw what many others could not and made up her mind to speak in spite of the fear of possible backlashes is another reason as to why her book gained popularity especially among the common people who loved the environment.
At a personal level, I believe that the book succeeds to a massive extent and presents true facts as well. It has no scientific jargons and explains each and every point elaborately and makes sure that the point forwarded reaches the heart of the readers. The author, very subtly introduces each chemical explaining its potency is poisoning the planet with the help of experts. For example, chlordane has been described by Dr.Lehman as one of the most toxic chemicals while chlorinated naphthalene could cause fatal diseases. The author also gives certain instances to provide evidence for her claims. She explains how children died in Florida and Wisconsin after coming into contact with objects that were used to spray parathion chemical and how people using 2,4-D related compounds suffered from

The book The Making of the Slavs: History and Archaeology of the Lower Danube Region is a well-drafted detail of the origins of Slavs; written by a prolific writer Florin Curta. Curta is an American historian and an archaeologist born in Romania. He is a specialist in the field of Balkan history and is considered an authority in the field.
He realized that the difference between the poor and the rich was a hazard for stabilizing the economy. His solution to this was increased in government spending through spending in public goods like parks, public transport and education etc. This he believed would reduce the differences and delay depression and people rebelling against the government.

In 2001, he was appointed as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy Expeditionary Forces Programs. In 2005, he assumed command of Expeditionary Strike Group Three, acting as the commander task Force 158 over the Coalition naval and marine forces operating in the territorial boundaries of the Persian Gulf and Iraq1.
She was also hospitalized several times at different locations around the city of New York. The reporter monitored Sylvia Frumkin for almost a year by speaking with her, attending upon her, monitoring her situation, consulting with her physicians and even observing her throughout her sleep in a mental hospital.
After reading the entire book, one can conclude her advice in the following statements. First of all, women will not be able to reach anywhere if they continue giving excuses based on the age-old gender bias they face everywhere in the society.
