The human beings appeal to the gods for intervention after the realization that King Gilgamesh, who was an offspring of a god and a human being was pushing them too hard. The gods see it proper to create someone who would rival King Gilgamesh’s might. The goddess of creation, Aruru then creates Enkidu, who is as might as Gilgamesh. Enkidu first lives in the wilderness with animals before a harlot is sent to entice him. This leads to his civilization which results in a relationship between him and Gilgamesh1. As a result of the death of this bull the gods decide that Enkidu should die. Gilgamesh is highly affected by Enkidu’s death.
