The birth of Black Nationalism came when Malcom X allegedly fell out with the leader of Black Muslims sect Elijah Muhammad in which he was a member until 1962. With this fall out he formed the Black Nationalism for African-American Unity claiming that there were a lot of black people who have no religious affiliation to Islam faith that would like to take part in economical, political and social programs of Black Nationalism (Allen par. 5). Malcom X in his book two speeches states; that the political philosophy of black people will be Black Nationalism, social and economical philosophy will be Black Nationalism and the cultural emphasis of the black people will be Black Nationalism. This means that the politicians and politics of Negroes will be ruled by Negroes, and there must be no more taking of orders by Negroes from outside. He further urges that Negroes must be armed for self defense. Malcom X had a vision of blacks in the United States to be the powder keg that it will take Black Nationalism as a fuse to spur Black people into an explosive revolution (Allen par. 2).
Malcom X and the Black Nationalism have a few aims and objectives that they are determined to fulfill. The first one is to assert the right and freedom by the Afro-Americans to control their lives, History and even their future as opposed to letting it in the determining hands of American Racists. This is backed by the determination of unhiding the true African identity and culture that was hidden from the Afro-Americans for four hundred years as a means of keeping them slaves (Organization of Afro-American Unity par. 4). Enslaved by a government that professes to be the icon of democracy, the Afro-Americans are determined to rediscover their history, raise the talents that are under the racist’s oppression and renew their culture that was stemmed out by the oppressive government.
