Although Spartacus was a slave, he rose to high rank of the leader of a fierce slave army. This army conquered the Roman army. Spartacus was a gladiator and a well-trained military leader. Spartacus led an uprising against the Romans. Spartacus led this this uprising to fight for their freedom against the slave owning Romans. Spartacus came from Thracian they were the nomadic group. He once served in the Roman army. Later, the legion captured him and made him a slave. When he was a slave, he joined a group of gladiators. Gladiators had immense strength and had significant fighting skills. He got enslaved with his Maedi tribe wife. She was the prophetess of the Maedi (Fast 34).
The Black Sea region viewed Spartacus as king of Thracian dynasty. The Roman legions captured Spartacus and enslaved him. At Ludus School, he got his gladiator skills of fighting. The school offered him skills of fighting where he became a gladiator. When he was at the school, was in a group of gladiators that were planning to escape. They managed to escape despite the betrayal by some of their colleagues. They conquered a small group of armies sent to get them back, settled around Capua and he recruited many slaves. This is the group he commanded to defeat the roman army for nearly four years (Fast 56).
Marcus Licinius Crassus played a vital role in the strengthening the Roman Empire and Roman Republic. Crassus was a Roman politician and at the same time was the Roman Army General. Crassus was the wealthiest man in the entire Roman history. This wealth came from the collection of large treasure he amassed in his time. The wealthy made him one of the most powerful generals Rome ever had. He started his public career under Lucius Cornelius Sulla. He served as a military commander.
