Download file to see previous pages According to the research findings the United States stands out as a classical example of a nation that has expanded extensively as a result of favourable environmental and geographical factors. The two key factors evident in the expansion of the United States include availability of settlements as a result of favourable climatic conditions and presence of valuable minerals for mining. Areas that have evolved due to increased population influx as a result of the mentioned two factors include Sun Belt region and California.
As the study declares since the 1960s, the United States has experienced an increased movement of human population towards the southern United States. This human migration has resulted to the emergence of a region referred to as the Sun Belt, which is located on the southern region of the United States. The main factors linked to the emergence of the development of the Sun Belt are the climatic factors favoured by the warm temperatures with prolonged summers. The Sun Belt is also favoured by mild winters experienced in Florida, Southern Texas, and the Gulf Coast. The Sun Belt comprises of several States, which include Florida, Tennessee, New Mexico, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, Texas, Arizona, and half of California.
