It is also correct from the movie that the explosion from the asteroid would send debris from the explosion into the atmosphere. The debris composed mostly of the dust particles would be carried in the earths atmosphere creating a blanket on the earth.
The Armageddon movie has some baseless facts that are not supported geologically. Meteorites in the movie do not travel in a parallel angle, and since meteors originate from the same source, they have to travel in parallel lines contrary to what the movie shows. Meteors cannot produce fire trails when they hit a space shuttle but only produce fire trails in the atmosphere. There are very slim chances that comets can hit an asteroid and move it into the path of planet earth.

The film shows that the eruption was very devastating through its ejections of Tephra, Lava Bombs, and Mud rains. The film shows that Tephra are air-fall materials that were produced from the eruption that is correct geologically. The ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
