Simple solution that my mother found due to ignorance is to use “food additives.” They are added in order to improve its taste, flavor, and extend its shelf life but their hazardous effects are ignored. Certain food additives, which I come across daily in my home, include “olestra, monosodium glutamate, aspartame, potassium bromate, and Acesulfame potassium” (Minich, 2009).
