The particular study that deals with agriculture and all related activities if referred to as agricultural science. This field has been growing and developing rapidly, being driven by climatic changes, culture, as well as technological inventions and innovations that keep changing from generation to generation.
In the United States, the agricultural industry has been facing various structural changes and trends. This have largely been leaning towards large firms but with less and reduced diversity of products, as well as biodiversity (Reed 21). This has also been coupled by globalisation activities and the resulting demands of the global and international market forces.
Additionally, the agricultural industry in the United States is currently facing uncertainties and instabilities because of the effects of global warming and climate. Currently, it is evident that climate change has been a key agenda in most of the global environmental debates. To this effect, all countries have been urged by the international community to ensure that they put in place strategies and various approaches towards reducing excess carbon emissions in the atmosphere, most of which are responsible for the increase global temperatures.
The effects of the global climate change on the presence of water alone in terms of increased precipitation for a long time are expected to worsen. The increases in temperatures in the global atmosphere are causing droughts in many parts of the world; in turn, this is reducing agricultural productivity not only in the United States, but also in other parts of the world.
