e individual visits these spaces outside of the spring or during a time of the day in which the sun is fully up, the differential in colors that is so often exhibited with respect to postcards other beautiful images of the Grand Canyon is notably absent. Instead, the space can almost be described as monochromatic. Essentially, only two distinct colors are clearly visible; the bright blue sky and the many different shades of green and reddish-brown that are represented in the strata of rock that has been worn away throughout millions and millions of years earlier version.
Another noted impression that the individual cannot help but realize has to do with the sheer size of space. Ultimately, the human eye is incapable of viewing the entire Grand Canyon from any one single vantage point; unless of course one is doing a satellite image. Because of this, it appears as if the chasm that spreads out before the individual extends infinitely in both directions. It is this very perspective that oftentimes encourages individuals to be in awe of the spectacle presented to them by the Grand Canyon.
Regardless of whether one is an individual that likes to spend time outdoors or one who is more at home in a shopping center, it is without question that the natural beauty of the place is without words. The juxtaposition of seemingly endless nature is something that is not oftentimes represented anymore; in an era of civilization and continual urban sprawl. To be able to look out as far as the eye can see and find virtually no sign of human habitation or impact on the environment creates a very visceral reaction that lasts within the hearts and minds of many visitors; sometimes for decades after they have come to see the park. Such a gut reaction in turn encourages them to return within their own lifetime and bring friends and family members to share in the sights that they had once reveled in previously.
