Gender or sexual identity is the way an individual identifies himself or herself with the category of gender as either being a man or a woman. The novel “Hairstyle of Damned” is a perfect example of how author have used their work to give a clear understanding of how teenagers struggle to find their original identity in their adolescent stage (Meno 50).
