Download file to see previous pages My right foot was completely disabled; hence found it difficult to walk, a similar case to my brother and sister did. I later came to note that it was ‘club foot’ as referred to by doctors. Initially,  it was challenging for me to understand because of two reasons: I was a child and was the only one with the disability. This disability hit my parents much such that they started looking for doctors and specialists who would help me be able to walk again.  His name was Doctor Peter Romano. He was my ‘savior’ as he assured me that I would walk again and continue with my duties just as the other kids would do. After much scrutiny, I found out that clubfoot has no main cause and is caused by many syndromes (Adams 12).However, this breakthrough had some major setbacks that prevented its enactment. There was the issue of a language barrier between my parents and the doctor. This prevented a proper communication channel, which would have helped the doctor pass important information and prescriptions. The doctor was fluent in English and spoke some Italian, which was to our advantage. They were able to communicate with my parents and plan for surgery. At this point in their lives, they were very happy that their daughter would be able to have a better life in future. It took eight hours for the surgery to be completed and the surgeon did magnificent work.
