According to the data presented in the featured video, it took humanity several decades before it could incorporate telephone that was the first ever virtual reality technology; no matter how crude it was but it holds the honor of being the first one.
The technological and biological systems evolve through the same principle of nonlinearity and therefore, these two models of growth and development are quite complimentary to each other (Kurzweil, The accelerating power of technology). The force of Mother Nature creates the competencies that are required to carry on the pre-historical process of technological evolution forward. The technological growth is the ultimate means through which evolution has taken place and it will take place in the future as well.
Furthermore, the orator argued that they have the ability to successfully and accurately predict the futuristic shape and size of technological interventions. The number of humans who suffer from demons of hunger and poverty is reduced by 95% over the past five decades (Kurzweil, The accelerating power of technology).
The speaker wanted his audience to believe that future is very much predictable in the world of technology. He carried on and said the costs of computing and that of sending one megabyte of information wirelessly can be predicted with utmost certainty (Kurzweil, The accelerating power of technology). Nevertheless, the focus of the speech remained on highlighting the need to consider biological and technological growth as set of forces that are complimentary each other. This belief is true because no technology can either be developed or used without the involvement of humans.
