Vivian in Wit is faced with such an unavoidable dilemma, being aware that she had very little time to live, especially her sense of isolation being aggravated by the emotionally sterile attitude of the medical staff. Here, the movie intensely brings to fore the angst and wreathing of a suffering soul, desperately trying to seek meaning and logic out of her eventual and unchangeable annihilation. The play demonstrates melded variances of characters. In the play, Dr Vivian, is labelled as brilliant, unconforming, and cold-hearted woman. She is a woman who focused almost her entire life in developing her intellect through analysing the poems of John Donne – a path she never expected would change her life completely during the later phases of the play.
This fact is explained in Wit by Margaret Edson.Wit is about a lady who has advanced metastatic ovarian cancer. She was admitted to a hospital and given advanced treatment of 8 months. This play explain physical and mental situation of patient during whole course. During her hospitalization, she comes across hospital staff, doctors, nurses, technicians etc, and is treated with different attitudes.
According to the author, human resources output is higher when the employee’s function as a team than it is the case when employees do not work as teams.
