This is based upon the reason that the rate at which trees are being cut down cannot match the rate at which the trees are being replanted. It is worse still that people do not recognize the fact that it may be extremely difficult to replace trees cut down completely. Analysts and researchers indicate that if the rate at which trees are being cut down increases, the future of humanity cannot be predicted. Winter & Koger (2004, pp.233) indicate that ‘taking the first step is the most important aspect towards solving problems.’ It is vital that all nations join forces to stop destruction of forests in the whole world.
The objectives of this report include highlighting the major causes of deforestation in the world. The major causes of deforestation can either be indirect or direct, according to Sands (2005, pp.129). These causes include:

Deforestation is bound to increase, if charcoal is relied upon as a source of energy.
Deforestation has also been caused by the need to acquire land for mining, construction of infrastructure, and other commercial purposes. Kemp (2004, pp.30) says that ‘those areas that are useful for mining are more likely to face environmental issues’. In this case, the human beings end up causing natural fires so as they can have a chance they carry out their commercial activities.
Illegal cutting down of trees is yet another reason for deforestation in the world. Illegal logging is being conducted by both individuals and companies whose aim is to acquire timber for their own benefit.
The entire world has to make sure that it is their responsibility to resolve the problem of deforestation. Bechtel & ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
