Even though only six people answer directly to the CEO, he can receive input from the different divisions due to the organization’s leadership team. The company has a tall structure, whose management is hierarchical (Didier, & Lombart, 2010). However, it is possible to maintain an organic management style that enhances flexibility to the changing conditions.
Coca cola is a global organization that operates on a local level in every region in which it does business. The company’s ability to create a world accomplishment that focuses on the local scale emanates from the strength of its system. Looking at the system from the managerial and legal perspective reveals that the organization’s system is not a single entity (Didier, & Lombart, 2010). Coca cola does not control or own all the bottling partners in the different divisions.
The Coca-Cola Company’s system operates through several local channels. The company manufactures and sells beverage bases, syrups and concentrates to its bottling operations. Apart from this provision, it owns and takes responsibility for the brands and the marketing initiatives used. The responsibility of the bottling partners is to manufacture, package, distribute and merchandise the branded beverages to the company’s consumers and retailing partners. In this case, the vending partners work with the bottling partners to develop localized relationships with the company (Didier, & Lombart, 2010).
Conversely, organizational politics defines power relations between the different levels of an organization. Conflicts can be beneficial since an organization can use the conflicting situations to improve the decision-making processes within the organization.
