There are several possible sources of chemical wastes in urban centers. For instance, bottles and containers, food packages and other accessories that are used are used as covers for electrical appliances. Municipal solid wastes do not form part of industrial waste thus it become quite challenging to resort to a specific way of disposal as it invariably differs from one society to the other. However, our research class came up with the following as possible sources to address the need for recycling of plastic wastes. In essence, there is resin plastic materials require processing before it goes under real disposition. Besides, ultimate industrial users generate some chemical wastes. Several technologies are active in recycling plastic wastes. For instance, a segmentation process where waste substances are converted into raw materials then passed through some additive elements before being compounded. Thereafter, the resultant moulds go through fabrication and convert into useful products for the end users (Bagchi, 2004).
Following research carried out in one of the municipal centers in North Carolina, it has been noted that majority of members of the society have come to recognize the need for recycling of wastes especially plastic refuse. Members of the community have gained much concern because of limited space available for landfills. Within a radius inhabited by a population of 2 million people, the community saves the production cost by over 70% through resorting to reuse of plastic cans after healthy disinfection from its previous contents.
