Download file to see previous pages The Gemini telescope has been used by the partner countries as a tool of astronomical research. It provides world-class observing equipment of the skies for the astronomers. Each country in the partnership is awarded observational time depending on the scientific merit and contribution towards the operation of the machine. The telescopes incorporate advanced technology in order to produce high quality of images. This includes the use of adaptive optics, laser guide stars, multi-object spectroscopy, and multi-conjugate adaptive optics. In addition, the telescope is made using a silver coating that is essential for the protection of the primary and secondary mirror. The location of the telescopes provides superb viewing conditions of the sky.
The telescope system has low emissivity coatings and an effective mirror cleaning program. These enable the machine to pick clear images. Each Gemini telescope has an adaptive optics setup further adding to the quality of images that the center captures. The telescopes can perform long-slit spectroscopy, multi-object spectroscopy, integral field spectroscopy and imaging at optical wavelengths. Infrared optimization and silver coating allow clear observations at the middle of the infrared spectrum. Proximity to infrared spectrograph boosts the sensitivity for point object and sources. The instrument is also known as a Multi-Conjugate optics adaptive system. It employs five guide stars to provide clarity over a large area captured. The guide stars are artificially made by laser (Simons 123).
A fundamental discovery that has been made by the Gemini Observatory telescope is a multi-planet system around a star. Images from the Gemini observatory helped the international team to discover two of the planets in the year 2007 (Howell 1191). ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

The Hubble Telescope

....) are: “Hubble's current instruments are the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3), Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS), Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS), Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS), Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS), and Fine Guidance Sensors (FGS).” (Hubblesite.org, n.d.) The instruments within the telescope are serviced and replaced with better technologically advanced substitutes every time a servicing mission goes to keep up the telescope’s maintenance. The very first servicing mission went up to the Hubble in the year 1993. It rectified a little curvature error that the telescope’s initial lens had. It was because if...

Hubble space telescope

... Section/# The Hubble Space Telescope Like many of the great feats of space exploration, the Hubble Space telescope has a long history. Named after Edwin Hubble, the famous astronomer, the telescope was finally launched in 1990; after years of delays and forced cancellations due to issues such as the Challenger disaster of 1986. Although the technology used within the Hubble telescope was and remains some of the most advanced optics that have yet been developed, the idea for a space based telescope was planned long before the telescope itself was officially designed or launched. As such, this brief analysis will consider the initial need and desire for such an instrument, development of the telescope, launch and operation use... ,...

...through the supernovae. The research fits to the topic as it conclusively defines the r-process and the inventory of the black holes (Qian 285). Linder (4) carries a research on the importance of supernovae in regard to the dark energy which is dominating the dynamics of the universe. Linder (2003) writes in regard to the current accelerating expansion taking place in the universe because of supernovae (Linder 5). The expansion theory as a result of the supernovae thus proves that dark energy, the component of strong negative pressure, dominates the universe. Moreover, there are methods given to explore the nature of the dark energy by mapping the history of expansion...

Polls can be good or ugly. Ugly polls are destructive, uninformative and intrusive. So we should rely on those polls which are done by trusted organizations (Price & Neijens, 1997). There are many types of polls. But now here we discuss only three types of polls.
